1.Take a day out at Prague Castle

Perched on a hill overlooking Prague is the largest castle district in Europe. Within its ramparts you’ll need a day to explore the city’s cathedral - St Vitius, St George’s Basilica and the Strahov Monastery. To get away from the crowds head to the Royal Gardens – a sprawling green oasis with the best views of the city.
2.Take a photo on Charles Bridge

Easily Prague’s most photographed site, this imposing 14th century bridge is the perfect place for a gentle stroll. Artists and market traders trade their wares here daily, so be sure to pick up an original souvenir of your holiday to Prague. For a birds eye view climb the Old Town bridge tower for panoramic views of Prague.
3.Tour the Old Town

Prague’s old town is centred around the Old Town Square with its imposing buildings including the Jan Hus Monument and the Old Town Clock Tower. Make sure you take a stroll along the maze of streets, just off the old town square, for good value restaurants and bars that cater to every taste.
4.Eat apple strudel on a river cruise

A trip to Prague would not be complete without a river cruise along the Vltava River. There is a huge choice available which take in the main sights including Prague Castle, the National Theatre and Charles Bridge. Be sure you choose one that offers coffee and apple strudel – a Czech Republic favourite!
5.Check the time at the astronomical clock

Centrepiece of the Old Town Clock Tower this 15th century golden clock is emblazoned with apostles, zodiac signs and Arabic numerals. Check back for an impressive chime every half hour. Climb or take the lift to the top of the tower for rooftop views of Old Town Prague.
6.Tour the Jewish quarter
Address: Josefov (Jewish Quarter), Prague, 11000, Czech Republic
Steeped in history this area of Prague dates back to the early 13th century. Places to visit include its five synagogues, the Jewish State Museum and the Jewish Cemetery which is said that to contain the bodies of 100,000 people.
7.Sample a Czech brew in a Cellar Bar
Address: Stare Mesto (Old Town), Prague, 11000, Czech Republic
Head underground for a tour of Prague’s many cellar bars. Most are located in the Old Town where you’ll encounter cheap draught beers, possibly a jazz musician or too and maybe a few stag parties! Although not as competitive as it once was, Prague still boasts some of the cheapest beer prices in Europe!
8.Shop in Wenceslas Square

Prague’s busy main thoroughfare is the city’s hub for cultural, social and business activity. You’ll find many of Europe’s biggest hotels and shops here and a smattering of restaurants and bars. This has long been the place for revolutionary anti-communist protests - though it’s obviously much quieter today!
9.Visit the Franz Kafka Museum

Although the great Czech writer Kafka never specified the location of his most famous story - Metamorphosis, there’s little doubt that the Prague made a lasting impression on him. Explore Prague through Kafka with this fascinating collection of his first editions, manuscripts, drawings and audio pieces.
10.Make love not war at the John Lennon Peace Wall
Address: Grand Priory Square, Prague, Czech Republic
Set in the a quiet leafy square amidst the baroque architecture of Prague’s Grand Priory Square stands the John Lennon Peace wall – a monument to the non-violent rebellion of Czech youth in the communist era. Although Lennon never actually visited Prague the wall acts as a memorial to his ideas and free thinking speech.

Try to see a performance at the Prague National theatre. There are frequent opera shows to choose from and a must for any classical fan.
A little known area of Prague definitely worth a visit is the Jewish Quarter. The winding streets have some wonderful restaurants and bars.
